Another big win for child molesters!
by lastmanstanding init just keeps getting easier and easier to molest.
when big religion has got your back, and you know that you can rape kids with impunity as father religion keeps the door to heaven swinging wide, 24/7 absolution available for the superstitious pedo, why not should everyone rape kids….
the pedophile loophole, the mainstay of the whitewashed, clergy penitent privilege, the hole e grail of the christian whore is swinging open, welcoming the perverts.

Lawyers help establish facts, fault, causation, culpability, damage, & compensation. If my child was abused, my attorney would help me find out if there was some lapse on the part of leadership that contributed in some way. Police deal with the actual perpetrator and victim. This way people are held accountable, both criminal and civil.

In the case of some kind of serious accuasation, we as a board want law enforcement and attorney's to get involved and to work out all the details and get to the truth.
If there was some lapse in our vetting process, ethics policies etc; we want to know about it right away. We want to use professionals trained in these areas. A good insurance policy assists in these efforts.
In the unfortunate case that someone was abused on our watch, the school can't just declare bankruptcy. The insurance company could be sued up to policy limits of several million dollars. It is a protectioin and benefit to our students. -

I'm on the Board of Directors of a locally ran church and K-12 academy. We have members and parents of students who are in law enforcement, university professors, construction workers... all walks of life. At great expense, we recently hired a police officer in a patrol car to be present on a full-time basis. We also do background checks for those in teaching positions.
I am encouraged by the comments above from Jhine regarding a big box name denomination. I think though that in general, locally run churches have less beauracracy to deal with. We have an insurancy policy that covers inappropriate behavior accusations specifically designed to cover legal costs so that the truth can come out in such an unfortunate case of abuse or sexual harassment of one sort or another.
Our policy of ethics is available for everyone to read and all of leadership is on board and in agreement. In the WT model, leadership just does as they are told and bears no individual responsibility for their choices to others. As previously mentioned, even though the beauracracy of the RCC is probably high, kids are more than 100 times safer there than in a public school.
The public school system is a diaster and is turning out large numbers kids that are abused and confused. Some mutilate their bodies in an attempt to be something other than what God made them to be.
Secular Materialism is the dominant religion/philosophy in public schools. It is the dominant philosophy on this very discussion board.
We should aknowledge the existence of this new religion that is rapidly gaining ground in our society, and research it like we would any other important apparatus we are contemplating participating in.
Most of us here, as well as in my case 3 previous generations, greatly suffered from not researching the WT before joining. Let's not make the same mistake again.

the name Jehovah: magical?
by enoughisenough indidn't know the best subject area to put this question under....i was listening to a discussion on youtube the other day while working, so not getting every point ....part of what was talked about was the word jehovah, ( not being the most accurate translation of yhwh ) was however pushed by illuminati /secret societies for its use in magic.
(as i informed, i wasn't getting the whole conversion as i also had attention elsewhere and some of the conversation was hard to follow.
) so i am wondering if anyone on here has more information on the subject they care to share.

I remember thinking, maybe there is something to it ( as in mind control ) and that being why so many were/are fooled.
JW's do seem to be under some sort of spell. Their brains are broken. At my hehest, I watched my dad read a scripture once and confirm whether or not he believed it. Then, when he looked up from the page he would say the opposite of what he just read.
Some may just say that was his indoctrination kicking it. Maybe. But he certainly looked like he was unable to read a simple scripture and understand it once the spell/indoctrination/mind control kicked in. I could see in his eyes the exact moment when it did.
Here's a short good read on the occult origins of JW's.https://jashow.org/articles/the-pagan-roots-of-jehovahs-witnesses/

Has the Watchtower Faithful Slave become the Evil Slave?
by Vanderhoven7 inwhat evidence suggests to you that the wt f&ds is actually more like the es of matthew 24?.
45¶who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?.
46blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.. .

The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites:
I think that an accurate assessment of the current status of the WT is that it has been deeply wounded (cut asunder) and that their dominant characteristic has emerged as hypocrisy ..... just as Jesus promised.Thank you Jesus. -

Lessons in Deception
by Sea Breeze ini recently came across a piece of historical trivia: italian singer adriano celentano released a song in the 70's with complete nonsense lyrics meant to mimic american english, to prove italians would love any english song.
it was a huge international hit!.
it made me think how the wt simillarly used a lot of stage props and nonsensical religious sounding words to fool millions into destroying their families and futures.

It is my understanding that they rejected the label "Christian" , until they felt the need to change that stance.
Not sure about that one. But for sure they used to claim that they were not a "religion", just a society. They changed that when they felt the need to get "religious" protection$ afforded to them under law.
They used to also deny that they had any "clergy" .... that is until they needed clergy/laity privledge afforded to them under law$.
The WT has played word games since their inception because they are expert liars. And most if not all JW's lied for them on occasion. For instance, when we were at someone's door and were asked whether or not we were there to change their religion, we would deny that we were there to do that and insist that we were only there to encourage bible reading.
A significant part of recovery from the JW religion is admitting that we all helped further WT lies. We were all perpetrators as much as we were victims. -

Who is the who of WHO we ARE? And when we die......where does the "who" go?

2.what happens to my ability to use my entire personal wealth?
so, how do we answer the question of what happens to you when you die?.

Terry,
You steered the conversation away from your original question in your opening post:
Who is the who of WHO we ARE? And when we die......where does the "Who" go?
Do you have a clear viewpoint on these questions you raised? In other words, Who do you think you are? I admit, I had trouble seeing the relevance of Russian dolls with the original questions you proposed.
There is a documentary out in theaters right now called AFTER DEATH. I plan to go see it in the next day or two.
You pose really good questions in your OP. -

Not Former, you are more correct after thinking about it. Guess I'm getting tired.
In the JW world:
Grace was changed to Underserved KindnessJustification was changed to "Declared Righteous"
I am interested if anyone else heard that it was OK to refer to oneself as born again as a JW after 1996 when I left. -

Terry,
I think we all understand what rationality is. That was not my question.
above all, that one must never seek to get away with contradictions.
What is "wrong" with irrationality and contradictions? It is a chance universe in your view right? Maybe even multiverses. How do you know that in some universe contradictions might be the norm, even demanded as you have demanded logic in this one.
What is the basis for your certitude that rationality and non-contradiction is "correct"? And you still haven't answered where did logic and rationality come from in your worldview? It means a commitment to reason, not in sporadic fits or on selected issues or in special emergencies, but as a permanent way of life.
If we blew up a 5 gallon bucket of paint, why should you demand that the paint splatter on one wall be used as a standard to judge the other nonsensical splattered walls? Doesn't make any sense. It's arbitrary.
The rats in the video clip I posted above seem to do just fine without much rationality. The greatest rational minds in all of history, Einstein, Newton, Di Vinci have never discovered a way to eradicate them.
Your worldview is self defeating on its own merit and implodes upon itself under examination. It should be rejected as irrational, arbitrary and without basis.
